Lebron James Reveals Official Title for ‘Space Jam 2’

It has been rumored for years now, but it seems that the sequel to the incredibly popular, yet strange crossover between Looney Tunes and the NBA- Space Jam– will be getting a sequel next year. This time Bugs Bunny and friends will be teaming up with Basketball star Lebron James as opposed to Michael Jordan. To generate more hype for his animated/live action-hybrid, Lebron revealed the new and official title for Space Jam 2 on social media.

The film has officially been titled Space Jam: A New Legacy.  LeBron reveal the title on both his Twitter and Instagram page through a quick little video of him wearing a hat with the film’s new title. Like the original Space Jamthe film is set to include other Basketball players alongside Lebron including Anthony Davis, Diana Taurasi, and Damian Lillard just to name a few. Don Cheadle will also star in an unspecified role.

While some might fear a delay for Space Jam 2 due to COVID-19, the film is still on set for a 2021 release. According to Lebron, the film still had a ton of production already done, and that “a lot of it right now is animation, so being indoors is actually great for us. So we’re still on. Just like everything in the world, everything is slowed down a little bit, but we’re still on target.”

Space Jam: A New Legacy will release in theaters July 16, 2021.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
