‘Leave No Trace’ Picked Up by Sony Worldwide at Sundance

Sony Pictures just acquired all international rights to Leave No Trace, a film by Debra Granik, states The Hollywood Reporter. Sony picked up the film at Sundance Film Festival. The last film Granik featured at the festival was the well-received Winter’s Bone in 2010, which accumulated four Oscar nominations and jumpstarted Jennifer Lawrence‘s career as a Hollywood heavyweight.

Based on the novel My Abandonment by American novelist Peter Rockthe film stars Ben Foster (Hostiles) and Kiwi actress Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie (The Changeover). Leave No Trace tells the story of Will and Tom, a father and daughter living remotely in Forest Park, a large public park in Portland, Oregon. After they’re discovered by authorities and social services intervenes, they’re forced out of seclusion. The film follows the duo’s struggle to maintain their independence while assimilating to society at large.

Anne Rosellini, who wrote the script with Granik, also co-write and produced Winter’s Bone. No official release date has been announced yet.
