‘Leatherface’ Releases Green Band Trailer and Still Offers a Terrifying Gimpse into the Origins of Fear!

The upcoming Leatherface is a prequel to the long running horror franchise that all started back in 1974 when Tobe Hooper released his horror classic The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This film will explore the origins of Leatherface and introduce us to how the horror all started. This film will ignore the prior entries in the series with the exception of 2003’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Texas Chainsaw 3D, Although this film will take place during youth of Leatherface, it will follow the same canon of those two films.

The film is directed by Julien Maury and Alezandre Bustillo (best known for the controversial French Film Inside) based on a script by Seth M. Sherwood (uncredited script writer for London Has Fallen). The cast will include Stephen Dorff (Wheeler), Lili Taylor (TV’S American Crime), Sam Strike (Bonded by Blood 2), and James Bloor (Go North). The film will be directly released for DirecTV on September 21st and will also be released on Video On Demand and in limited theaters on October 20th.

You know his name, you know the fear, so witness the birth of…Leatherface

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
