Leaked ‘Avengers 2’ Clip Exposes Tension Between Captain America and Iron Man

After the whirlwind of previews and informational goodies from the MCU’s Phase 3 reveal last week, we are also now treated to this leaked clip from The Avengers: Age of Ultron, first seen by fans at the event. Although the official trailer teases physical altercation between Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), this clip reveals a clashing of wills. In it, we see Captain America’s alter ego Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) getting into a heated debate with Tony Stark (Iron Man) about the ethical and strategic repercussions of the team’s continued fight. Presumably brought on by an initial encounter with Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), the tension between Captain America and Iron Man exposes a weakness in The Avengers team, one that will need to be strengthened before Ultron can be defeated. The discussion also brings to the surface a theme that will most likely permeate the film – as Stark puts it, “why we fight.” In other words, what role should heroes play and to what extent – an idea highly relevant to modern culture. Audiences will have to wait until the May 1st, 2015 release however, to see what new light this film sheds on the argument. In the meantime you can find extended details on the film here, and expect more updates as the premiere date inches closer.
