Lenny Abrahamson’s next untitled movie has secured its lead talents. Both Tom Burke and Eve Hewson have been selected for the leading roles.
This would mark the latest in a well regarded string of films directed by Abrahamson. His most well known movie out of his filmography is 2015’s Room, which would go on to receive a Best Picture nomination, as well as a nomination for Abrahamson himself for Best Director. His other credits include Normal People, Frank, and Conversations With Friends.
Hollywood Reporter notes that, with the film not having a title just yet, there’s only a very sparring synopsis of the story as well. The film follows a young boy just on the cusp of growing up, struggling to find just how he fits into the world around him.
While her most recent appearance was in Jay Kelly just last year, audiences will see her in another film this June, as she has a starring role in Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day. She’s also appeared in Bridge Of Spies, Enough Said, and Papillon.
Burke, although boasting plenty of television credits, has worked with several big name directors over his career. He’s appeared in George Miller’s Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Steven Soderbergh’s Black Bag, and Nicolas Winding Refn’s Only God Forgives. He’s also collaborated with David Fincher before with 2020’s Mank, in which he plays the legendary film icon, Orson Welles.
