Netflix’s To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before breakout star Lana Condor is attached to star in upcoming film from HBO Max called Moonshot.
Moonshot takes place in the future where Mars is terraformed and colonized by the best humanity has to offer. Two very different college students from Earth wind up joining forces to sneak onboard a space shuttle to the red planet in order to be united with their significant others.
Condor will star as the focused college student Sophie who is a stickler for plans — at least, until her boyfriend Calvin moved to Mars, and she decides to go chase after him.
Greg Berlanti is producing alongside Sarah Schechter via Berlanti Productions. Mike McGrath of Berlanti Productions will serve as executive producer. Chris Winterbauer will direct the project, with Max Taxe set to write the screenplay. Moonshot will be Winterbauer’s solo feature directorial debut.
Moonshot will also be one of the four films Berlanti Productions will make with HBO Max, their first being UnPregnant.
Further casting or dates for the film has not yet been revealed.
Condor is currently in the third and final installment of the franchise, To All the Boys: Always and Forever, Lara Jean, which is reportedly in post-production. The Vietnamese-born American actress rose to popularity thanks to Netflix’s To All The Boys movie series in her role as Lara Jean Covey. Other feature credits include Alita: Battle Angel and her acting debut as Jubilee in 2016’s X-Men: Apocalypse.
