Lee Cronin’s adaptation of The Mummy has gained a new cast member in the form of Laia Costa. The Spanish actress is most well known for Victoria and Newness but also appeared on a few episodes of Wheel of Time. She will reportedly be playing the spouse of Jack Reynor’s character, who is also attached to the film. Jack Reynor (Midsommar, Free Fire) and Costa are the only two names currently attached to the project.
Little is known about the plot, but expect a different approach from the Universal films. This film is from New Line Cinema with Atomic Monster and Blumhouse producing. This means it is the first Mummy film not from Universal Pictures. Lee Cronin is directing, but he is also producing under his Doppelgängers banner. Cronin previously directed Evil Dead Rise back in 2023 and Hole in the Ground in 2019. The Mummy is currently expected to hit theaters April 17, 2026.
