Kristen Schaal Jumps On Board ‘Michelle Darnell’ with Kathy Bates and Kristen Bell

Melissa McCarthy’s pet project Michelle Darnell continues to generate buzz as another familiar face joins its ranks: along with Kathy Bates (The Death and Life of John F. Donovan), Kristen Bell (Frozen), and Peter Dinklage (HBO’s Game of Thrones), actress and comedian Kristen Schaal (FOX’s Bob’s BurgersToy Story 3) has officially signed on to the cast.

Co-written and co-produced by McCarthy and her husband Ben Falcone (seen together in Bridesmaids), Michelle Darnell tells the tale of a successful businesswoman’s fall from grace after her shady insider trading deal is uncovered. However, when she returns from prison and attempts to restore her image, she doesn’t get as warm a welcome as she expects.

Schaal will reportedly be playing a scout leader in the comedy, and with her history of eccentric and outlandish roles (in shows like Flight of the Conchords30 Rock, and, most recently, Last Man On Earth), Schaal will no doubt deliver a performance that matches the quirky tone of Michelle Darnell.

The movie, due for release in April 2016, will be directed by Falcone and co-produced by Adam McKay, Will Ferrell, Chris Henchy, and executive producer Kevin Messick.
