Keri Russell in Talks to Join Cast of ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’

According to an exclusive by Variety, Felicity star Keri Russell may be headed to space on the Millennium Falcon in J.J. Abrams’ next film in the classic intergalactic series Star Wars: Episode IX.

This would not be Russell and Abrams’ first film together, as Russell starred in his 2006 action thriller Mission: Impossible III.

The said role is rumored to be stunt heavy and intense, but Russell is no stranger to stunt work and heavy athleticism, especially looking to her aforementioned work with Abrams as well as her work on FX’s The Americans and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

Although it is unclear whether Russell will potentially depict a rebel, Jedi, or a member of the Sith, we do know that Abrams settled on Russell just before the Fourth of July.

Abrams will likely cast two more actors before production starts at the end of this month, but he still has his core cast members returning to their famous roles including Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Adam Driver.
