No longer just that funny Korean guy from The Hangover series, Ken Jeong is making some big waves in Hollywood with a little help from Producer (and Actor) Steve Carell. Jeong is in talks to star in International Incident, a road-trip comedy produced by Carell, as first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
International Incident centers on the story of five United Nations delegates who go on a journey to find one of their lost loves. No details yet so far on which role Jeong will be playing except that he is to be playing a lead role. Jeong is widely recognized for his hilarious cameos in The Hangover movies. Apart from that he has built an impressive resume of movie and television appearances. We first noticed him in is cameo as the fill-in delivery doctor in Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up. He most recently voiced characters in the popular Despicable Me movies alongside Carell.
We’re eager to see how Jeong does with the spotlight centered on him. He may not need it, but he’ll surely have some help whoever Carell finds to direct the picture. Look forward to more information as this story develops.
Ken’s next appearance will be voicing the character Short Fuse in DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar spin-off, The Penguins Of Madagascar. He is currently filming Ari Sandel’s The Duff due in theaters some time next year. We’ll see Carell next this October in Disney’s Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.
