Today in Knives Out 2 news, another cast member has been added to the growing list of A-list talent. Today’s casting: Kathryn Hahn. Hahn is fresh of her (spoilers) villainous role as Agatha Harkness in Marvel’s WandaVision, but the actor has been in the industry for over two decades and is finally getting recognition. A memorable role in Stepbrothers is one of Hahn’s funniest roles. She can add a lot to the next installment of Knives Out.
This is the fourth day in a row with a new casting for the upcoming murder mystery, and it certainly will not be the last. The original 2019 film, which nabbed an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay, boasted an all-star cast that included Daniel Craig, Ana De Armas, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson, Michael Shannon, LaKieth Stanfield, and many more A-list actors.
With the latest round of casting news, it is very clear Rian Johnson is looking to make a murder mystery every few years with an insanely stacked cast. Originality is hard to come by in Hollywood these days and it is nice to see Johnson creating something that is familiar, but also fresh.
The only returning cast member now is Daniel Craig as the southern Detective Beniot Blanc. Joining the KOCU(Knives Out Cinematic Universe) are Dave Bautista, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, and now Katherine Hahn. An eclectic yet ever-talented cast, Knives Out 2 is shaping out to be a fun film with an incredible group of actors.
Knives Out 2 is set to film this summer, and will be subsequently be released on Netflix in 2022.
