Julius Onah To Direct ‘Captain America 4’

Nigerian filmmaker Julius Onah was been called upon by Marvel Studios to direct the upcoming fourth installment of the Captain America films. The New York University graduate is best known for his previous directing work on Luce starring Octavia Spencer as well as some other smaller-scale films.

The movie will star Anthony Mackie, a.k.a. Sam Wilson, as the new Captain America. The last film dedicated to the hero was in 2016 when Captain America: Civil War was released. That being said, this new movie will be the first to not star Chris Evans, the MCU’s original Captain America. For those familiar with the Disney+ show Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we saw Wilson grapple but ultimately accept the role as Earth’s new Captain America, as Steve Rogers returned to the 1940s in Endgame to reunite with Peggy Carter.

There have been no clues or hints given as to what the film will be about or which villains Captain America will be taking on. What we do know is the script is being written by Falcon and the Winter Soldier head writer Malcolm Spellman and staff writer Dalan Musson.

No announcements about filming or production dates have been released at this time.
