Judy Greer Joins John Cena in ‘Playing with Fire’

Per an exclusive report from Deadline, American model and actress, Judy Greer, has joined Playing With Fire, starring opposite John Cena. The film is a project from Paramount’s newer film studio division, Paramount Players, and will be directed by Andy Fickman (Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, The Game Plan).

The film, written by Dan Ewen, Adam Cole-Kelly, and Sam Pitman, will revolve around Dr. Amy Hicks (Greer) and a trio of orphaned kids who band together to fight off Social Services and their plan to send the children to separate foster homes. John Carson (Cena) will be Hicks’ love interest. Little is known about the film and its plot as it remains in the early stages of development.

Greer has had a stellar past few years with roles in films like War For The Planet Of The Apes, Jurassic World, and last year’s successful Halloween as well as a role in Showtime’s Kidding. John Cena has also been quite active, especially in the last year with roles in Blockers and Bumblebee. Even with these stars leading the cast, a peek at Fickman’s previous filmography gives little hope to the quality of this movie. However, it remains too early to gauge for sure.

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
