Jonah Hill to Embark on Directorial Debut with His Own ‘Mid-90s’

Jonah Hill is a man of many talents, going from comedic actor to an Oscar-nominated dramatic actor, and now he will add director to his resume. The comedic actor made his mark in films including Superbad (2007) and Get Him to the Greek (2010), yet has transitioned onto more dramatic fare recently, earning Oscar nods for his performances in Moneyball (2011) and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).

Hill appears set to helm the film Mid ’90s, based on a screenplay he wrote. Hill has some experience writing, as he helped write the stories for the 21 Jump Street films. Not much is known regarding the story line, but we do know that it will follow young skateboarding boy being raised in Los Angeles in the mid-1990s. Hill will not be acting in the film. Scott Rudin and Eli Bush (The Grand Budapest Hotel) will produce the film with A24 Films.

Hill’s next acting role will be in this year’s War Dogs with Miles Teller, and will star in Sony’s upcoming 23 Jump Street Men in Black. Hill most recently appeared in Hail, Casear! for directors Joel and Ethan Coen and voiced a part in the upcoming raunchy animated comedy Sausage Party.
