John Boyega in Talks to Star in ‘A Naked Singularity’

English actor John Boyega, known for his roles in the recent Star Wars films as well as Pacific Rim: Uprising, has supposedly been in talks to star in a film under development by the name of A Naked Singularity. The project, which currently sits in the very early developmental stages, is to be a legal drama based on the American novel of the same name.

The novel, written by Sergio De La Pava and published in 2008, follows the story of a girl named Casi. He is the child of Colombian immigrants and works in Brooklyn and works as a public defender in Manhattan. He has never lost a trial, but the plot follows the depreciation of a sense of justice as he begins to deal with a number of cases dealing with ethically sensitive subjects, such as immigrant families.

The film’s script is to be written by David Matthews and directed by Chase Palmer. The project will be financed by 3311 production company and produced by Tony Ganz and Ridley Scott’s Scott Free productions.

Robert Thornson Jr.: My name is Robert and I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of California Irvine. I am pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media studies with hopes to work in the creative industry. I have always had a passion for storytelling and since youth I've loved film. I grew up loving the movies of directors like Wes Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, David Fincher, and many more along with writers such as Aaron Sorkin and Quentin Tarantino. One thing I have always done is write about movies and communicate to others information about the "film community" and the industry as well as about the films themselves. I write creatively on a daily basis.
