Johanna Braddy, the young female actress known for her roles in Unreal and popular Youtube series Video Game High School, has joined the cast of Miss Arizona in the starring role, according to Deadline. Braddy’s character used to be a beauty queen, who we can only assume was Miss Arizona at one time.
The film will focus on Braddy’s character and an ensemble cast of four women she had met at a place of refuge. They end up embarking on a fun night together, complete with plenty of fun moments, such as reaching a drag queen competition, which will feature RuPaul’s Drag Race competitors Ginger Minj and Willam.
The film boasts an almost all-female cast including Missi Pyle (Gone Girl), Dana Wheeler-Nicholson (Tombstone), Otmara Marrero (StartUp), Shoniqua Shandai (I’ll See You In My Dreams), Robyn Lively (Wildcats), Kim DeJesus (Happy Ending), Steve Guttenberg (Police Academy), Kyle Howard (Royal Pains), and Kevin Heffernan (Super Troopers).
The indie comedy-drama is being directed and written by Autumn McAlpin, known for her work as a writer on Waffle Street and Another Time. McAlpin is producing alongside her company Side Gig Productions and Amarok Productions.
It is logical to believe that the film will begin shooting sometime this year or early next year and could possibly make a showing at one of the many film festivals of in the upcoming year.
