Joe and Anthony Russo to Adapt Judy Blume’s “Superfudge” for Disney +

Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo are adapting an animated film based on Judy Blume’s classic children’s book Superfudge for Disney +.  The duo has been quite successful for Disney after directing Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War, as well as Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

The story of Superfudge follows young Peter Hatcher’s quest through New York City after his little brother Farley “Fudge” Hatcher runs away from home. The animated film is being adapted by Amos Vernon and Nunzio Randazzo, the pair who helmed Hotel Transylvania: Transformania and Future Husbands.

This is not the only adaptation that Disney + has recently announced. They have also just ordered an adaptation of Paola Santiago and the River of Tears by Kevin Rodriguez to be produced by Eva Longoria. They also just announced Tiny Trailblazers, an original animated series that will be for Disney Junior and is set to be produced by Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon.

So, Disney + has quite the slate of animated projects to look forward to in the coming years. There is no release date for these projects yet, but that information can presumably be released by the end of the year.
