Joaquin Phoenix And Maya Rudolph On The Set Of ‘Inherent Vice’.

We’re keeping fans posted with an update of the in-production film, Inherent Vice, the latest from director Paul Thomas Anderson (Boogie Nights, There Will Be Blood, The Master). This photos, first published by Varietyshow Joaquin Phoenix as the “shaggy dog” detective Doc Sportello, and Anderson’s very pregnant partner, Maya Rudolph, playing a nurse on the set in LA.

Anderson penned the screenplay, an adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s novel by the same name, and is directing a cast of A-listers that includes Phoenix, Rudolph, Reese Witherspoon, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Jena Malone, Martin Short, Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn. The title is drawn from a legal term which refers to a flaw or problem that’s inherent to an object or system, such as chronic disease. In this case, could refer to the fact that Sportello is actually working against the LAPD.

We’ll continue bringing updates this highly anticipated film, due to be released in early 2014, as they become available.
