Famed comedian Jerry Lewis (The King of Comedy) has signed on to The Trust alongside Nicholas Cage (Con Air), Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), and singer Sky Ferreira – reports Deadline. The story follows two corrupt cops (Cage, Wood) planning a heist after discovering a money-filled vault at the back of a convenience store. Lewis has apparently taken the role of Cage’s father. Alex and Ben Brewer will be co-directing the film based on a script by Ben Brewer and Adam Hirsch. Lewis has, up until now, distanced himself from the Hollywood scene, with his last major film being the indie Max Rose – a feature at Cannes 2013. Before then, the actor’s most recent credit dates back to 2009. This rare appearance, therefore, could be a large selling point for the film.
