Jeremy Allen White Expected To Portray Bruce Springsteen In Upcoming Film ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’

The Bear star Jeremy Allen White is in talks to portray Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming film Deliver Me From Nowhere based on the book Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska by Warren Zanes. Scott Cooper, who is best known for his work on Hostiles and The Pale Blue Eye, will write and direct the film. The book follows the conception of Springsteen’s record Nebraska and the turmoil he went through whilst making it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cooper stated, “Through themes of despair, disillusionment, and the struggles of everyday Americans, Bruce has formed an unparalleled legacy, painting an unflinching portrait of the human condition. Yet, amidst the darkness, a sense of resilience and a sense of hope shines through, reflecting an indomitable spirit. That’s the Bruce I’ve come to know and love and will honor with this film…Warren Zanes’ wonderful telling of this chapter in Bruce’s life is ripe for cinematic adaptation. This film has the potential to be a transformative cinematic experience, offering audiences a window into the soul of Bruce Springsteen and the universal truths that bind us all together.”

With the slew of biopics that have been coming out of Hollywood in the past few years, most recently 2022’s Elvis and this year’s Bob Marley: One Love, it will be interesting to see how this film will separate itself from the rest. White playing Springsteen is certainly a credit to the production, as he is coming off of many award wins for his leading role in FX’s The Bear

There is currently no expected release date for the film, but production is expected to start in the fall.

Hannah Mitchell: Hi All! My name is Hannah Mitchell, I just graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a major in English. I am very excited to start writing for Mxdwn! I have been passionate about film and storytelling from a young age. My favorite movie of all time is Stand by Me. My favorite TV Show is Succession (a bit basic, I know). But I also love British TV and film and some of my favorite shows from across the pond are Crashing and Misfits. I actually met Jonathan Bailey in London which was incredibly exciting. Anyways, I'm ready to write for this site and am optimistic about my future here!
