Jennifer Coolidge Potentially Back As Paulette In ‘Legally Blonde 3’ According To Reese Witherspoon

Jennifer Coolidge’s career renaissance may be one of the most exciting comebacks we have seen lately. The actress previously known for starring in comedies such as American Pie and Legally Blonde is reaching a high point in her career performing In HBO’s The White Lotus, a performance that made her win a Golden Globe award and an Emmy.

Now a third installment for Legally Blonde is in the works, and it seems Coolidge may be part of it. Reese Witherspoon, who stars as the stylish attorney Elle Woods in the films, stated to Entertainment Tonight: “There is no Legally Blonde 3 without Jennifer Coolidge.”

Coolidge’s character is a beloved and remembered one. She stars as Paulette Bonafonté, who befriends Elle in the first film. Many memorable moments of the film include the actress, especially the iconic one in which Elle teaches her the “bend and snap” trick at the salon.

Witherspoon also talked about how happy she is about Coolidge’s career:

“I’m beyond myself about Jennifer Coolidge. She deserves every one of those flowers she is receiving right now. And she’s just one of those people who is so naturally gifted and funny and that you can just tell people love her, ’cause she gets up there and everybody’s like, ‘I love her,’ but she’s just done a lot of good work in our business for so long, that it’s really nice to see her getting this incredible moment.”

Coolidge previously said she was unaware of the third installment of Legally Blonde. Although she heard about it in the media, she wasn’t contacted yet about being part of the project. In October 2022, the actress said, “I know nothing…I heard that Mindy has this amazing version of our next round, but I haven’t seen it. I don’t have the call yet.”

Legally Blonde 3 was initially set to be released in 2020. The sequel is being written by Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor and has no official release date yet.
