Jason Momoa is in Talks to Join ‘Minecraft’ Movie

Following the success of The Lego Movie, Warner Brothers are setting up to recreate that achievement in its next project: a Minecraft movie. It’s doubtful that anyone doesn’t know what Minecraft is. Still, for anyone who doesn’t, it is an extremely popular video game among kids where the player can play in one of two modes: creative (where they can create their own world) or survival (self-explanatory).

Most famously, the game is known for its detail of everything made out of cubes within the game. But that aspect isn’t super relevant because the Minecraft film will be live-action. Aquaman and Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa is in talks to sign onto the picture as the star, and Jared Hess of Napoleon Dynamite fame will direct.

Most likely due to the success of video game-based films in recent years, the Minecraft movie has garnered a lot of notable producing credits. In the past, this group has produced movies like Elf, MummyDoctor Strange, and Wonder Woman, to name a few. Evidently, this group is good at their job, picking films that turn into successes. If that is any kind of testament in itself, along with the momentous following Minecraft has accumulated as a video game, then only good things will be coming from this project.
