Jason Bateman To Direct The Warner Bros Film ‘The Pinkerton’

News has been released that Ozark actor Jason Bateman will direct the film Pinkerton, the hybrid supernatural revenge western acquired by Warner Bros. and JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot two years ago. The Pic was marketed as a spec by Daniel Casey of F9.

This was Bad Robot’s first original film project since Warner Bros. signed a significant deal with the producer. Bateman and Michael Costigan will executive produce alongside producers from Bad Robot’s Abrams and Hannah Minghella.

The Pinkertons were known as a private security and detective agency founded in the United States in 1850 by Scotsman Allan Pinkerton. Pinkerton rose to fame for claiming to thwart a plan to assassinate President-elect Abraham Lincoln, who later decided to hire Pinkerton’s security agency during the Civil War.

Bateman made his directorial debut with Bad Words, followed by The Family Fang, won an Emmy and two SAG Awards for directing an episode of Ozark, and won two Best Actor Emmy awards.
