Last month, we stated that Taron Egerton, the young up and coming actor who has starred in the two Kingsman films, had joined a new film titled A Private War that starred Rosamund Pike as a news reporter. New information has surfaced that yet another up and coming actor has joined the cast. Jamie Dornan, the actor behind the billionaire Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades films and Paul Spector from The Fall, has officially joined the cast, according to Variety.
A Private War follows Marie Colvin, a real-life war photographer who was known for tackling reports in heavy conflict zones including Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Chechnya, Zimbabwe, and Sri Lanka, where she unfortunately lost her left eye in 2001. She became known for her iconic eyepatch and her persistence of bringing the news of terrible conflict across the world. She would eventually be killed doing what she loved by a rocket attack in 2012 while covering the Syria civil war.
Matthew Heineman, the director behind Oscar-nominated Cartel Land, has picked up the directorial reins with a script by Arash Amel, who had the task of adapting Marie Brenner’s news article Marie Colvin’s Private War. The film is set to begin production soon in the UK and the Middle East.
