James Gunn Hints At Green Lantern’s Return In ‘Superman: Man of Tomorrow’

Today, James Gunn posted a short video on threads that teased a Green Lantern to return in the Superman follow-up, Man of Tomorrow. The video shows Gunn holding a fake lighter with “From Guy” written on it which opens up to a middle finger. The thread is captioned, “It’s easy being green” with a hashtag of Man of Tomorrow. The name Guy, which is on the lighter, is a reference to Nathan Fillion’s (Castle) character Guy Gardner, who was featured in Superman and is said to appear in the upcoming Lanterns series.

Among others set to return are Milly Alcock (Supergirl) and Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor). The movie is confirmed to have two Green Lanterns appear on screen, with one being played by Fillion and another played by Aaron Pierre, set to debut as Jon Stewart in Lanterns.

Man of Tomorrow is set to release July 9th of next year. In a Variety interview, Gunn hinted at the plot of the movie by saying, “At its core, it’s about Clark and Lex. I relate to both of them. I relate to Lex’s ambition and obsession — minus the murder. And I relate to Superman’s belief in people, his Midwestern values. They’re two sides of me.”
