The Toronto International Film Festival has officially announced the project roster for its inaugural International Financing and Project Market, taking place September 10 through September 16, 2026, as part of the TIFF: The Market industry platform.
Presented in partnership with government agency Ontario Creates, the curated initiative features 50 established production teams pitching 40 feature films, six series, and five technology and innovation projects currently in advanced development, packaging, or financing stages. The program is structured to connect creators with global distributors, sales agents, co-producers, and private equity investors through dedicated presentation and networking meetings.
High-profile feature packages launching at the market include Sher, a Canadian feature directed by Deepa Mehta (Midnight’s Children). Produced by David Hamilton, Rajiv Maikhuri, and Craig Stovel, the narrative offers a new take on the Sherlock Holmes universe and has Academy Award winner Jeremy Irons attached to star.
Also featured on the slate is Central Park Tale, an animated film helmed by director Daniel Jeanette and produced by Jacqui Barcos and John Fragomeni. The voice cast includes Keke Palmer, Regina Hall, Alan Cumming, and Common.
Additional projects pitching at the event include The Gain, a Canadian feature directed by Matthew Kowalchuk starring Oscar winner Marlee Matlin alongside Jacob Tremblay; Apeman, a drama directed by Michael Basha with Chace Crawford attached; and A Brief History of Silence, a non-fiction project featuring Booker Prize-winning novelist Marlon James.
