The iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame is adding a new star to its ever-expanding lineup. Christina Ricci will have her name set in the walk along with countless others who have received a similar honor.
Ricci made a name for herself at a very young age. Her first credited film role was Mermaids. At just nine years old, Ricci shared the screen alongside the likes of Winona Ryder, Cher, and Bob Hoskins. Following that, she became a prominent child star and would appear in other films through the 90s like Casper and The Cemetery Club.
Her most prominent role, however, was that of Wednesday Addams, the brooding daughter of Gomez and Morticia Addams, in Barry Sonnenfeld’s The Addams Family, as well as its sequel, Addams Family Values. She would even return to the franchise later on, once the Netflix series Wednesday hit the scene, although she did not play the titular character.
“I’m not sentimental and I don’t care about accolades, but to be acknowledged in this way is really profound,” Ricci had to say, according to Variety. Variety also interviewed Ricci after the announcement came out, touching upon many aspects of her career.
Ricci’s name will join the likes of others who’ve received a star on the Walk of Fame, such as Mark Hamill, Morgan Freeman, Sigourney Weaver, Claude Rains, and even Godzilla.
