Henry Golding in Consideration for ‘G.I. Joe’ Snake Eyes Spin-Off

Yo Joe! It was recently announced that Hasbro is planning to create two G.I. Joe spinoff movies. The first one will be titled G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes and focuses, of course, on one of the most popular and arguably coolest G.I. Joe character, Snake Eyes. The second movie, by comparison is going to be titled G.I. Joe: Ever Vigilant and will star the less popular, and far less cooler, character Chuckles.

Recently it was revealed that Paramount has considered casting actor Henry Golding as the titular Snake Eyes but, as of right now the casting has not been officially confirmed. Golding is probably best known for his role in the recent thriller comedy A Simple Favor and as Nick Young in 2018’s Crazy Rich Asians. He will also star alongside Emilia Clarke  in an upcoming romantic comedy called Last Christmas.

These movies have made Golding well known for his charm and charism, so it’ll be interesting to see how he would portray Snake Eyes. After all, the character, formally played by Ray Parks, is an amazing warrior but also notorious for being completely mute and never revealing his face. It’s hard to imagine that Paramount would cast a handsome to play a character that never shows his face.

Furthermore, there has yet to be any announcement on the casting of Chuckles, but perhaps that news will come out in the future.
