HBO Max, the highly anticipated streaming service from Warner Media, is set to debut in just over a month on May 27. The latest streaming service to enter the market is set to bring 10,000 hours of library programming and will cost $15 per month, making it more expensive than its competitors like Netflix and Hulu.
WarnerMedia Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a press release, “Even in the midst of this unprecedented pandemic, the all-star teams behind every aspect of HBO Max will deliver a platform and a robust slate of content that is varied, of the highest quality, and second to none.”
The streaming service will be home to shows and movies from both HBO and Warners Bros libraries, as well as include specific movies, TV shows, and documentaries limited to HBO Max. These include programs like Friends, the Gossip Girl reboot, South Park, and Russell Simmons documentary On the Record. Additional programming will include projects from Ansel Elgort, Anna Kendrick, and Kaley Cuoco.
Content curation for the streaming service is being primarily done by Kevin Reilly, Chief Content Officer of HBO Max and Sarah Aubrey, head of original content. HBO Max is the latest streaming service to enter the streaming wars competition.
