Hawkeye May Finally Get a Marvel Movie

You heard it here, folks. Hawkeye may be the next subject for an individual Marvel film in the near future.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige hinted at the potential film for the archer at Produced By 2018. He said that the character, played by Jeremy Renner, may get a film to go along with the upcoming Avengers 4 movie.

Feige spoke of new films containing both familiar characters who we’ve all seen kicking major butt on the screen before, as well as beloved characters from the classic comics who have yet to reach the big screen. He also mentioned possible changes in the already known characters (as “new incarnations,” specifically). MCU Cosmic states that the “Classic character” Feige referred to are The Eternals.

Even though these “hints” toward the upcoming Marvel films are relatively vague, we do know that we can expect at least Avengers 4, the sequel to Spiderman: Homecoming, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Since Hawkeye was completely absent from Avengers: Infinity War, many fans are excited to see him in the fourth film in the series. According to some sources, though, many people believe that Hawkeye will be appearing as Ronin rather than his known character. People believe this theory because of set photos that were captured during the filming of the fourth movie last fall. This certainly goes along with the theory of new incarnations of well-known characters.

Since Clint Barton is not the only known archer in the comics, people are speculating that the film may even center around a whole other archer, and some are saying that Kate Bishop may be the next in line for a film. The inclusion of another female Avenger would bode well if the buzz about an all-female Avengers film come to fruition. Feige stated the following to Vulture about all of these ideas: “It is all about figuring out when and how… But by the way, many of them have already filmed additional scenes in upcoming movies, so some of that is gonna come sooner rather than later. All of them will be seen again.”

Of course, all of these assumptions about the Hawkeye film are nothing more than rumors at this point, but we sure are excited to see what becomes of all of this.
