A chilling new teaser trailer was released for Return to Silent Hill, the third installment in the Silent Hill film series. The horror film marks the return of writer-director Christophe Gans to the live-action adaptation of Konami’s 2001 video game, Silent Hill 2.
The trailer follows Jeremy Irvine as James Sunderland as he abruptly wakes up in a body of water. “Something’s happened here. Something really really bad,” he whispers. After a barrage of scary images, a burning building is seen in the distance. A siren is sounded and then a glimpse of the killer, Pyramid Head appears.
Return to Silent Hill comes 20 years after the first film, Silent Hill, also directed by Gans. The second film, Silent Hill: Revelation starred Kit Harington. For the upcoming film, Cineverse promised a faithful adaptation of the game, which was successfully remade recently.
Alongside Irvine, the third film includes Hannah Emily Anderson as Mary Crane. Akira Yamaoka, the original composer for the game franchise, scored the film. It was written by Gans, Sandra Vo-Anh, and William Schneider.
Return to Silent Hill has a theatrical release date of January 2026. It will be distributed domestically by Cineverse’s Bloody Disgusting label and Iconic Events Releasing.
