Hannah John-Kamen Joins ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’

With a little more than a year to go before it’s set to open in theaters, today we’ve learned a little bit about Marvel’s forthcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp. The second installment will see the return of Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly as Scott Lang (Ant-Man) and Hope van Dyne (the Wasp), with Michael Douglas and Michael Pena also expected to return. Variety broke the news that actress Hannah John-Kamen looks primed to join the film in a key, if for now undisclosed, role.

John-Kamen has built a steady stream of roles on television with memorable parts in the Netflix mystery series Black Mirror and the HBO phenom Game of Thrones. She is, however, starting to build a solid filmography with roles in the upcoming screen reboot of Tomb Raider starring Oscar winner Alicia Vikander and a part in Steven Spielberg’s anticipated science fiction thriller Ready Player One. Both of those films are set to bow in 2018, as is Ant-Man and the Wasp, positing what could a breakout year for John-Kamen. She also previously held a small part in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

As of right now, plot details regarding Ant-Man and the Wasp are being kept under lock and key. While the part John-Kamen will be portraying is unconfirmed, reportedly Marvel has been in meeting with the rising actress a various points throughout the last month before being formally cast.

Peyton Reed returns in the director’s seat for the second Ant-Man outing; the first film grossed upwards of $500 million globally. Currently the film is in pre-production. Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to open in theaters on July 6, 2018.
