Hailee Steinfeld Discusses Where She Wants To Take Her Career

Still coming off the success of Across The Spider-Verseactress Hailee Steinfeld has come on the record regarding where she hopes to take her career moving forward. She is perhaps most well known for her role as Gwen Stacy in the aforementioned Spider-Verse filmalong with it’s predecessor Into The Spider-Verse, but also saw success with the 2010 version of True Gritfor which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at just 14 years old.

While there’s no question to the state of her success at this point, the 26 year old actress still craves to advance her career. At the Tribeca Film Festival, Steinfeld told fellow actress, Ayo Edebiri, that she would “love to produce something that I’m not in. To understand that role in its entirety on its own.” She gained exposure to producing with Apple TV+’s Dickinson, in which she starred and served as executive producer on all 30 episodes. She also won a Peabody Award in 2002 for the show.

On top of commenting about the possibility of producing more projects, both stars shared stories about being on the set of Across The Spider-Verse. “Normally, we will go in and do our part. Then it goes into post-production, and you might hear from (the director) once or twice. Sometimes it’s a little inconvenient to go in and have to do a couple of hours of ADR,” said Steinfeld. “But now, I look at going back again and again and again as just an opportunity to keep improving on what you have done.” Both also added that they finished their lines very close to the release of the film, while also admiring the dedication it takes to work on it going down to the wire.

Steinfeld also added: “It’s a wild thing. But as far as what was like, growing up and working in this world? In a way, I don’t know any different. This is home for me.”
