‘Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story’ Featurette Gives Details On The Underdog Story

Rotten Tomatoes recently released a featurette diving into Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story and its true story about a gamer who becomes a racer. Born from PlayStation Productions and Sony Pictures, the film focuses on real-life Gran Turismo player Jann Mardenborough, who won a PlayStation competition to learn how to become a real racecar driver, and his successful racecar career.

The featurette showcases clips of the interaction between Jann (Archie Madekwe) and his father (Djimon Hounsou) and how their relationship dynamic is tense from Jann’s interest in racing games and real-life racecar racing.

Check it out down below:

The cast of Gran Turismo consists of Archie Madekwe, David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Darren Barnet, Geri Halliwell, Djimon Hounsou, Emelia Hartford, Sang Heon Lee, and many more. Gran Turismo is directed by Neill Blomkamp, known for District 9, Chappie, and Elysium.
