Golden Globe 2025 Nominations With Record-Breaking Numbers. This will now be the 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards and the nominations are out and were announced on December 9th. One nomination Emilia Pérez has taken a lead within the ten nominations which is now a new record for comedy or musical motion pictures. Barbie has earned nine votes in 2024 according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Netflix has been the top contender of distributors that have a earning of 26 nominations across film and television. Netflix’s success comes from their shows like Emilia Péreze because although new it has accomplished a lot of achievements thus far. A24 has made strong headway with 12 movie nominations, whereas other streaming services like HBO had only 14 nominations. 

The Golden Globe 2025 will still embrace expanded categories by including categories like best cinematic and box office achievement awards which will put a spotlight on blockbuster hits of 2024. Movies like Deadpool & Wolverine and Wicked are two of the eight known nominees for these categories. 

This year Golden Globes is said to be airing live from Beverly Hilton on January 5th and will be hosted by Nikki Glaser, Glenn Weiss, and Rickey Kirshner. There will still be some special honors that will consist of, the Cecil B. DeMillAwardrd said to be for Viola Davis and the Carol Burnett Award said to be for Ted Danson. Both of these acts have received high numbers of nominations. 

This year voter turnout has been diverse representation and with the Golden Globe still being the center of everyone’s mind and everyone’s favorite award ceremony this celebration seems to be one of the most prominent ceremonies.
