Yesterday, the trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero was released, giving a look at what to expect to from the Oscar-winning reboot of the franchise. The trailer begins with Hidetaka Yoshioka’s (Always: Sunset On Third Street) character Kenji Noda, looking up towards the sky with a voice over saying, “we didn’t finish the job like we thought,” and a clip of Godzilla coming out of the ocean. The trailer confirms the movie is set two years later after the Godzilla Minus One. After the two years later confirmation, the trailer plays clips of people getting together discussing the return of Godzilla. A person off screen shouts,”You saw it! Godzilla was blown to pieces,” followed by clips of destruction happening in the city. A piece of godzilla is shown to have been extracted and Min Tanaka (Twilight Samurai) as Kanji Murakami says, “Fight fire with fire.”

The trailer introduces Masami Nagasawa (Mother), who has been in past Godzilla Film, Godzilla Final Wars, as Dr. Aoyama. The trailer cuts to text that reads, “there is no third time,” and “everything ends here.” A brief clip is shown of, Ryûnosuke Kamiki’s character, Kôichi Shikishima, is shown of him and his wife from the first movie discussing the repercussions of both of them dying, which will orphan their child. The trailer also reveals that this is the first Japanese film to be filmed for IMAX. The last shots of the trailer teases the sounds of a new kaiju, which arstechnica theorizes is King Ghidorah. The movie is set to release November 6th.
