Jane the Virgin and Deepwater Horizon star Gina Rodriguez has just agreed to produce and headline the next romantic comedy on Netflix.
The film, titled Something Great, will center on a woman (Rodriguez) who decides to head to the Big Apple. It’s a much- needed trip, which she will undergo with her best friends. The trip marks the middle point between two big events in her life: a bad break-up and her working her ideal career.
Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (MTV’s Sweet/Vicious) penned the script and will direct the film. Along with Rodriguez, Jessie Henderson and Paul Feig will also work to produce the film.
Good news for fans: Rodriguez, a Golden Globe winner, has another exciting project that they can check out: the book-adapted sci-fi film from Alex Garland, Annihilation.
Something Great is looking to start production in April.
