Get Ready for The First Televised Razzie Ceremony!

Now that the Oscars have finally come and gone, the film industry’s award season is winding down, but there is still has one more very famous award show left this year: the Razzies. While the Oscar ceremony honored the best movies and filmmakers with its awards, the Razzies “honors” the very worst films and creators.

The Razzie nominations were all announced on February 8th, and full list of the nominees can be seen on the Razzie’s official website. Cats had the most nominations with 9, followed by Rambo: Last Blood and Tyler Perry’s A Madea Family Funeral, which are both tied for 8 nominations.

Traditionally the Golden Raspberry Award ceremony takes place the night before the Oscars, but this year will mark the second year that the Razzies will be held after the Oscars. It will also be a historical moment for the worst of the worst ceremony, as this will be the first time a Razzies will be televised. Screen Rant announced the plans to televise this year’s ceremony back in 2019.

Other changes to the Razzies include the addition of a new category titled WORST RECKLESS DISREGARD for HUMAN LIFE and PUBLIC PROPERTY. Several movies have been nominated for this category, including Joker, which just earned two Oscars.
