George Lopez joins a dramatic thriller Afterward, from director Dito Montiel (Empire State), it is unclear what role he will play in the film. Lopez joins already announced, Aaron Eckhart (Midway) and Terrence Howard (Empire). The production of Afterward was supposed to begin in the spring, but because of COVID-19, it was delayed. The production will now start filming this winter in California.
Afterward is inspired by a true story about a father (Eckhart) who is struggling to live with the death of his daughter and set out on a quest for truth and justice against corruption and small-town politics. Lopez is best known for his comedic work and for his TV show George Lopez that ran from 2002-2007, about a Los Angeles manufacturing plant manager trying to deal with his crazy family and mishaps that happen along the way.
As of late, Lopez has been branching out into other genres. Recently has appeared in The Tax Collector, David Ayer’s gritty thriller. His other upcoming films include an American western, No Man’s Land, directed by Conor Allyn, and comedy Walking With Herb.
Lopez’s other credits include Marmaduke, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, The Smurfs, Rio, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D, Valentine’s Day, and The Spy Next Door.
