Geoff Pierson and Clark Backo Starring in Indie Comedy ‘The List’ from Director Melissa Miller Costanzo

Melissa Miller Costanzo’s indie comedy The List has added new cast members to her upcoming film. According to Deadline, Geoff Pierson (Boardwalk Empire, Dexter) and writer, activist, and, actor Clark Backo (The Handmaid’s Tale) have joined the cast.

Costanzo’s directorial feature debut was the indie film All These Small Moments, which starred Molly Ringwald. It had its world premiere at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival.

They join previously announced cast members Halston Sage (Before I Fall), Christian Navarro (13 Reasons Why), Gregg Sulkin (Pretty Smart), Jonah Platt (Parenthood), Chrissie Fit (Pitch Perfect 2), Will Peltz (Unfriended), and Zach Reino (A.P. Bio).

Rob Lederer and Steve Vitolo wrote the script for the film. Along with writing, Lederer will also be starring in the movie as a bartender.

The List follows Abby (Sage), a bride-to-be for whom everything is perfect. Until she discovers her fiancé Matt (Platt) had slept with one of the celebrities on his “free pass” list. Abby and her closest friend Chloe (Fit) devise a ridiculous plan to distract herself: Abby should chase a celebrity from her own list. However, things become complex when she meets Jake (Navarro), a lovely and attractive server at a local café which provides her with a new viewpoint.

Pierson will portray Mayor Capozzi of New York City. Capozzi has had a particular paternal bond with Abby, his speechwriter, for the previous five years. Backo will play Kenzie Burke, a rising actress who sleeps with Abby’s fiancé.

Pierson can be most recently in Tyler Spindel’s Netflix film The Wrong Missy, which starred David Spade and Rob Schneider.

Backo will be seen next in Amazon Studio’s rom-com I Want You Back, in which she co-stars with Jenny Slate.
