Did you watch The Raid or its sequel and wonder what other action films come out of Indonesia? Well, wonder no more you lucky bastards; a new film is coming to satiate your curiosity. That film is Garuda Power (named for a badass mythical bird, prominent in Indonesian culture) a documentary from director Bastian Meiresonne, covering the multitude of genres and sub genres within Indonesia’s action movie industry.
According to Twitchfilm, “[the doc] is currently in post production and aiming for a festival run later this year.” If true, non-Indonesian audiences can look forward to an informative look into a realm of cinema most of them probably didn’t even know existed.
