‘Freaky Friday’ Sequel: Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan are committed

Disney Studios is all in into making a sequel for 2003’s Freaky Friday. Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis both agree to the idea.

Lohan recently returned to acting with a lead role in Netflix’s holiday film Falling for Christmas alongside Glee alum Chord Overstreet.

Released in 2003, Freaky Friday is based on the 1972 novel of the same name by Mary Rogers, starred Curtis and Lohan as a body-swapped mother and daughter, and was a $160 million film on a $26 million budget. Curtis was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her role as Tess Coleman.

The talk on whether or not a Freaky Friday sequel should be made started last Sunday when Curtis and Lohan discussed their possible reunion.

Curtis commented to Variety, “I’m 64 in a week and Lindsay is 36…[A sequel] lends itself so beautifully,” Curtis said. “We’re both committed to it, and it’s not ours to make. It’s Disney’s to make and I think they’re interested and we’re talking.”

Currently, there aren’t any scheduled dates for a sequel of Freaky Friday and no confirmation has been made at this time regarding a sequel. The only information the world has, as told by Jamie Lee Curtis when interviewed by Variety, is that the right people are talking.
