First Trailer for Netflix Gothic Thriller ‘The Devil All The Time’ Released

Being the world’s largest streaming service, Netflix definitely is still taking the opportunity to bring audiences many new and exciting films out there. This case around, they have new gothic thriller featuring both Tenet star Robert Pattinson and Spider-Man actor Tom Holland with Antonio Campos, best known for Simon Killer, set to direct. The film is known as The Devil All The Time, and it just released its first trailer today.

The film is based on a novel of the same name by Daniel Ray Pollock. It centers around a young orphan named Arvin Eugene Russell, and the film showcases his life after World War II, dealing with many corrupt individuals and the psychological trauma he faces against them. The film has an all star cast with Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgard, Sebastian Stan, Riley Keough, Mia Wasikowska, Jason Clarke and Haley Bennett among others. The trailer does not reveal a whole lot, but showcases the tone to be incredibly dark with a lot of moments seen with Holland having many conflicts with various types of corrupt people.

The film looks to a very fascinating character piece and considering this is a more out there role for Tom Holland to tackle, it will be really neat to see how he performs in a dark dramatic role such as this one. Holland discussed that it was certainly a different role than what he has been used to and stated that,“I guess it was the challenge of doing a different accent, playing the rural kid, a period film, a new director. Everything ticked the boxes for me”.

The Devil All The Time is set to debut on Netflix September 16th 2020.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
