The first trailer for Elizabeth Banks’ reboot of Charlie’s Angels has been released. The film stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska as the three leads.
This Elizabeth Banks version has the trio working worldwide as the mysterious Charlie Townsend continues to influence them with the help of a group of guides. Each of the guides are called Bosley, to reflect the multiple actors in the television series that took the name Bosley. Director Elizabeth Banks, Patrick Stewart, and Djimon Hounsou will each play a Bosley, while Noah Centineo will play the role of Langston in the film as well. Sam Claflin, Jonathan Tucker, Chris Pang, and Nat Faxon also join the rest of the cast in undisclosed roles.
This is the third film adaptation of the hit television show of the same name that ran from 1976-1981 and starred Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith. The first two film adaptations, released in 2000 and 2003, starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu. Rather than be a remake with a new Charlie’s Angels universe, this reboot is more of a continuation of the television series and previous films.
Charlie’s Angels is set to be released in theaters by Sony Pictures Releasing on November 15, 2019.
