First Teaser for Disney’s ‘The Jungle Book’

The first teaser trailer for Jon Favreau’s new live action/CGI version of Disney’s 1967 classic animation feature, The Jungle Book, has been released.

With a voiceover by Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Age of Ultron) as the hypnotic snake Kaa, the trailer shows Mowgli (10 year old newcomer Neel Sethi, the sole live actor) running from danger, barely escaping would-be predators, and leaping into a deep abyss. Check out the trailer below.

The script, loosely based on the original 1894 Rudyard Kipling story, is written by Justin Marks (Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li), who is currently tapped to pen Top Gun 2. Other returning characters in CGI animation are voiced by Bill Murray (Baloo), Ben Kingsley (Bagheera), Christopher Walken (King Louie), and Idris Elba (Shere Khan). In role not in the original feature, Lupita Nyong’o will voice Raksha, Mowgli’s adoptive wolf mother.

The Jungle Book will be released on April 15, 2016.
