First Round of New Disney Delays See’s ‘The King’s Man’ and ‘Bob’s Burgers’ Among Others

Seems like today is delay day, as in the expected first round of incoming Disney delays, they have announced films under their 20th Century and Searchlight Studios have been pushed to the second half of the year. This includes The King’s ManAntlers, and Bob’s Burgers: The Movie.

This comes as little surprise as Sony and Universal announced this week that most of their first half films 2021 films will be delayed to later this year. Including Craig’s final Bond flick No Time to Die and the soft reboot of Ghostbusters, among others.

Here’s a quick break down of the new release dates:

20th Century Studios

The King’s Man:  August 20, 2021

Ron’s Gone Wrong: October 12, 2021

Bob’s Burgers: The Movie: TBD

Searchlight

The Night House: July 16, 2021

The Eyes of Tammy Faye: September 24, 2021

Antlers: October 29, 2021

Nightmare Alley: December 3, 2021

The final two being in limited release. This comes as little surprise, but also will set the stage for Disney to delay films further, such as Black Widow. There is no word yet if that film will see a delay from its new May release date. Due to Disney’s purchase of Fox, they have a plethora of studio films that will be delayed and go under the radar.

However, it is also important to remember that they are also in charge of the big blockbusters.  Seeing as there is no feasible possibility of a packed house in the next six months, perhaps Disney will owe it to these tentpoles to delay them one more time until everyone can safely see them.

Perhaps the safest course of action is simply to be patient.
