First Look at the ‘Barbie’ Teaser Trailer! Explore Barbie in a Barbie World!

She has captured the hearts of little girls for generations, and now she’s all prepped for her big-screen debut. Barbie is getting a live-action movie for the first time, and she’s all set to shine bright for her summer release on July 21! Based on the infamous doll that made its debut in 1959 by Mattel, Barbie stars Margot Robbie as the title character and Ryan Gosling as the man himself, Ken! Helmed by Greta Gerwig with a screenplay by Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, Barbie features all the colorful imagery, parties, and sheer joy that audiences can expect with a big-budget summer release. The budget for Barbie is reported to be $100 million.

The supporting cast will include Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Ariana Greensblatt, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Alexandra Shipp, Michael Cera, Issa Rae, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Pearlman, and Kate McKinnon. Initially announced by Universal Pictures in 2009, Barbie has gone through numerous changes with writers, directors, and studios, including Sony Pictures. Eventually losing the rights to the film, Barbie was acquired by Warner Bros Pictures. Margot Robbie also serves as a producer under her LuckyChap Entertainment Banner. Mattel Films and Heyday Films are also producing the movie. Alexandre Desplat will be scoring the film.

Barbie looks quite interesting from the teaser trailer, but one thing is for sure: we finally get to see Barbie and Ken on screen together. Barbie is scheduled to release in theaters on July 21, 2023. Despite expectations, the song “Barbie Girl” by Aqua won’t be appearing in the film, as reported by Variety. Nevertheless, Barbie is sure to capture the curiosity of many, and wait until you see what the teaser offers below.

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
