It’s a new era for The Croods: A New Age, and it begins with the release of its first trailer from DreamWorks Animation.
The trailer starts with Emma Stone’s character Eep, reintroducing the prehistoric Croods family as they search for a new perfect place to call their home and start a new chapter of their lives. The family soon realizes that the “perfect” home that they found that meets all their needs has one problem: A modern-ish family called the Bettermans already lives there.
The Bettermans welcomes the Crood family and introduces them to their “modern life,” but as conflict and tensions rise between the two families, they try to figure out how to make it work between them when a new threat emerges. As a new threat forces both families to go on an adventure together, they learn what it means to work together and embrace their differences to forge a new future together.
Stone, Nicolas Cage (Grug Crood), Ryan Reynolds (Guy), Catherine Keener (Ugga Crood), and Cloris Leachman (Gran) all return to voice their original roles as the Crood family. They have been joined by new cast members Peter Dinklage (Phil Betterman), Leslie Mann (Hope Betterman), and Kelly Marie Tran (Dawn Betterman) as the Bettermans family.
Directed by Joel Crawford, previously worked on Trolls and the Kung Fu Panda franchise, and produced by Mark Swift, who worked on Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie.
The Croods: A New Age planned for the film to be released in theaters on Nov. 23, 2020.
