Zack Snyder has released another teaser for the upcoming superhero epic Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice—the first being this image of Ben Affleck as Batman back in May – via twitter: a picture of Aquaman, as portrayed by Game of Thrones actor Jason Momoa.
The dark tone affected by the image is its biggest takeaway away – a clear indication that Snyder and company will be creating their very own world outside of the comic books and the pre-conceived representations of Aquaman (like his green and orange webbed suit), as well as the remaining Justice League members.

The ‘Unite the Seven’ tagline, many have speculated, could likely be referring to the members of the Justice League: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Cyborg. We already know Ben Affleck is playing Batman, Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious) is playing Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher is playing Cyborg, Henry Cavill is reprising the role of Superman; which only leaves Flash and Green Lantern still to be cast.
Aside from the contents of the image, its release teases the introduction of Aquaman into DC Entertainment’s planned cinematic universe. In the style of Marvel’s Phase 3 lineup, Aquaman will also be appearing in two Justice League films in 2017 and 2019, with a solo film wedged into 2018.
