She Said, a film based on the reporters Megan Twohey and Jodi Kantor, has official release date of November 18th, 2022. Twohey and Kantor are the reporters who famously broke the Harvey Weinstein sexual-assault story. This news comes from Deadline.
She Said stars Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman) and Zoe Kazan (The Big Sick) as the New York Times reporters. When they broke the Harvey-Weinstein story, they also sparked a movement, and helped launch the #MeToo movement. The #MeToo movement was very important in it gave people a safe place to share their stories.
The film is based on Twohey and Kantor’s bestseller novel She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite a Movement. The first story ran on October 5th, 2017, where they revealed the first sexual harassment and assaults against women by Weinstein. Since, he has been accused numerous times by multiple other women. He is currently incarcerated in New York.
She Said is directed by Emmy winner Maria Schrader (Unorthodox) from screenplay by Oscar winner Rebecca Lenkiewicz (Ida), and is produced by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Entertainment. She Said is executive produced by Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle for Annapurna Pictures.
